Muertehead was born 1976 and raised in Lima, Peru. His artistic inspiration comes from the politic overtaking of power throughout the region, as all of South America was under siege by dictatorship, Muertehead began to draw his perceptions of life at a young age. Growing up in the streets of Lima, Muertehead gravitated towards hardcore punk creating a name for himself as a performing vocalist in various bands. In teenage years he presented his art in the form of flyers, album covers, and band decals including his own. In his twenties he started his own record label, designing album artwork at a more professional level. In the economic downfall as a result of the civil war, Muertehead immigrated to the United States of America. His immediate influence on the underground latino punk scene from the east to west coast caused his art to further evolve, the continuous onstage passion for 25 years reflects in his artwork of today.. In the mid life of his discovery, Muertehead expanded his art outside the musical experience to enter a soulful release of artistic scars. Building from a history of war and music to transform art into a positive perception of spiritual growth.
